A corrugated fin tank (also known as a corrugated tank) is an integrated pressure-bearing enclosure solution for oil-immersed distribution transformers. Its core feature is that the tank wall serves as the heat dissipation surface. The corrugated structure, cold-formed from steel plates, simultaneously provides three functions: sealed storage of insulating oil, natural heat dissipation, and compensation for thermal expansion and contraction of the oil volume. It often eliminates the need for conventional external accessories such as an oil conservator and breather. It is the mainstream technical solution for small and medium-sized distribution transformers and currently accounts for over 68% of the domestic 10~35kV distribution transformer market.
Its core advantages include integrated and compact design, strong space adaptability, fully sealed maintenance-free operation, high operational reliability, significant lifecycle cost advantages, stable heat dissipation, and ample safety margin.
Typical application scenarios
10kV/35kV urban and rural distribution network upgrades, especially decentralized power supply locations in rural and mountainous areas where maintenance is inconvenient
Space-constrained installation scenarios, such as pole-mounted transformers, American-style pad-mounted transformers, and indoor distribution rooms
Terminal distribution transformers for industrial and mining enterprises, commercial buildings, and residential communities
Scenarios with high requirements for deployment efficiency and maintenance-free operation, such as temporary construction power supply and supporting facilities for distributed photovoltaic grid connection
